Childcare Coordinator

The Childcare Coordinator is responsible for organizing and overseeing on-campus childcare for various church events. This role requires a compassionate and organized individual who can ensure a safe and engaging environment for children while their parents participate in church activities.

Ministry Area: Family Ministry

Time Commitment: Part-Time (10+hrs/wk)

Reports To: Children's Ministry Director

Essential Functions:

• Childcare Planning and Coordination:

• Plan and coordinate childcare for on-campus church events, including Impact Groups, special events, and meetings.

• Recruit, train, and schedule a team of qualified childcare workers.

• Ensure adequate staffing levels for each event.

• Maintain a clean and safe childcare environment.

• Childcare Activities and Supervision:

• Develop age-appropriate activities and curriculum for children in coordination with Children's Ministry Director.

• Supervise childcare workers and ensure they are providing appropriate care in accordance with childcare procedures and training.

• Maintain a positive and nurturing atmosphere for children.

• Address any behavioral issues or emergencies promptly and effectively.

• Communication and Collaboration:

• Communicate effectively with parents, childcare workers, and church staff.

• Maintain accurate records of childcare attendance and incidents.

• Collaborate with other church ministries to adequately support areas with childcare needs.

• Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant childcare regulations and church policies. Refer to the Family Ministry Handbook, Childcare Registration Protocol, Childcare Worker Requirements, and the Childcare Guidelines & Rules documents for details.

• Implement and maintain safety procedures for children.

Other Functions:

• May be asked to be present at various staff meetings throughout the week

Minimum Position Requirements:

• Good computer skills
• Must be highly organized and communicate well
• Previous experience in childcare or related field a plus
• Experience managing others
• Must work well in a team environment
• Must currently or quickly be able and willing to uphold and cast vision, mission and strategy of Grace Community Church
• Must currently tithe or be willing to begin tithing
• Must be available up to 10 hours per week, plus some weekends and evenings
• Must exude patience, flexibility, positive attitude, and having a passion for serving others
• Must be at least 18 years of age
